Sustainable Aquaculture Insights: Se4All’s Day

On May 9, 2025, the Se4All project marked a significant milestone during its secondment in Rome, hosted by REDINN’s Leonardo Piccinetti and Donatella Santoro. Researchers Leticia E. Toselli (INTA), Julieta Comin (INTI), and Lázaro Armando Pérez Acosta (UAB) collaborated with Prof. Alessio Bonaldo at the UNIBO Veterinary Faculty for Aquaculture lab, uncovering new insights into sustainable aquaculture.

A Day of Discovery

The team explored cutting-edge practices in aquaculture, focusing on how these methods can enhance the sustainability of dairy production through selenium biofortification. The lab visit highlighted innovative techniques that align with Se4All’s mission to optimize selenium concentration and bioavailability in dairy products.

Collaborative Efforts

This activity built on the secondment’s goals of knowledge sharing and networking. The researchers engaged with UNIBO’s expertise, gaining practical tools to advance their work in Argentina. The visit underscored the importance of international collaboration in driving sustainable agri-food innovation.

Looking Ahead

These findings will inform future Se4All initiatives, strengthening the project’s impact on circular economy practices and functional food development. Stay tuned for more updates as our journey continues!
