Se4All 2nd Project Meeting

Rome- Italy, January 25th 2024

 The partners of the Se4All project convened today, January 25th, for their 2nd project meeting, after the first reporting period  to assess the ongoing implementation and chart a course for future activities.

The Se4all project, a collaborative initiative aimed to  combat health issues arising from Se-deficient diets by producing Se-enriched dairy products. By introducing Se-biofortified hay as a natural nutrient source into the diets of milking cows. The meeting allowed the partners to take stock of the achievements and challenges encountered thus far.

During the meeting, participants engaged in lively discussions, sharing insights and experiences that will help steer the project towards its ultimate success. Key topics on the agenda included the progress of work packages in the Se4All project, along with the key indicators. Additionally, the meeting addressed future secondment plans for Se4All as well as following up the results of the experiments conducted, the meeting also discussed initial plans for Se4All upcoming events.

 Prof. Maria Jesus  Sanchez from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona expressed optimism about the project’s trajectory, stating, “Our collective efforts during this initial 30-month period have yielded a tangible progress in our mission to combat health issues arising from Se-deficient diets by producing Se-enriched dairy products. By introducing Se-biofortified hay as a natural nutrient source into the diets of milking cows. The accomplishments and challenges that have been discussed today during our project meeting are inspiring us to propel Se4All during our third year with renewed enthusiasm and underscoring our commitment to sustainable research and innovation approaches for building innovative and long-lasting solutions.”

The collaboration among the Se4All project partners remains strong and focused on achieving their mission. As the project is in its third year, the partners are committed to continue with their efforts and work closely to ensure that Se4All continues to positively impact Se-deficient diets by producing Se-enriched dairy products.
