Horizon Science Meets Se4All

Rome, May 13, 2025 – Today’s Se4All secondment session was hosted at REDINN and featured a guest presentation by Prof. Danilo Corradini from the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Institute for Biological Systems. A leading expert in food chemistry and analytical science, Prof. Corradini introduced the PATHFOOD Horizon Europe project, a flagship initiative focused on improving food safety across Europe.

The session provided a deep dive into:

  • 🔬 Advanced analytical techniques used to identify contaminants in the food chain
  • 🧪 Food authenticity and traceability innovations within PATHFOOD
  • 🌍 The intersection of science and regulation in Horizon Europe frameworks

For the Se4All researchers —
👩‍🔬 Dr. Leticia E. Toselli (INTA – Argentina)
👩‍🔬 Dr. María Julieta Comin (INTI – Argentina)

this session offered a valuable exchange of perspectives on how cross-border R&D can support safer, healthier, and more transparent food systems.

“PATHFOOD is an excellent example of how scientific excellence can support real societal needs — it was incredibly relevant for Se4All’s mission in functional food development,” said Dr. Comin.

The discussion underscored the importance of integrating chemical, biological, and policy-based approaches to ensure food security and consumer protection.

This session, organized as part of the Se4All secondment and hosted by REDINN, highlighted how European research infrastructure can serve as a model for applied innovation globally.

👏 Special thanks to Leonardo Piccinetti and Donatella Santoro for facilitating this collaboration and deepening the bridge between EU and Latin American innovation networks.
