Innovations in Functional Foods

Se4All to Present at EU Knowledge Valorisation Talk

The Se4All project is proud to announce that we will be sharing our pioneering research at the upcoming EU Knowledge Valorisation Talk on October 14, 2025. The event, titled ‘New ways to manage intellectual assets and bring research to market,’ is a perfect venue to discuss our work on optimizing the concentration and bioavailability of Selenium (Se) in milk and dairy products.

Selenium is an essential micronutrient vital for human health, playing a key role in immune function and antioxidant defense. However, deficiencies are common in many populations. The Se4All project addresses this challenge directly by transforming everyday staples like milk and dairy into functional foods that can improve public health.

Our research has led to the development of novel methods to naturally enhance the Selenium content in milk in a way that is highly bioavailable—meaning the body can easily absorb and use it. This journey from nutritional science to a potential consumer product is built on unique intellectual assets.

At the talk, we will share insights into our process of valorisation:

  • Protecting our Innovation: How we manage the intellectual property behind our unique enrichment methodologies.
  • Bridging the Gap: Our strategy for translating complex biochemical research into a scalable, safe, and marketable product for the dairy industry.
  • Creating Value: How we are building a pathway to bring these nutritionally-enhanced dairy products to the consumer market, creating both health and economic benefits.

This is a must-attend for anyone in the food science, nutrition, and dairy industries, as well as those interested in the commercialisation of academic research. Join us to learn how Se4All is turning research into better nutrition for all.
